How Many Modes of Data Transmission Are There

How Many Modes of Data Transmission Are There?

The way you in which data is transmitted from one place to another is call data transmission. There are three types of data transmission modes which are simplex, half duplex and full duplex.

1. Simplex mode

Simplex mode in this mode data can be travel in only one direction. It cannot be moved in both directions. It operates in a manner similar to a One Way Street. The direction of flow never changed. A device with simplex mode can either send or receive data but but cannot perform both actions at the same time.

2. Half duplex mode

In in half duplex mode, data can flow in both directions but not at the same time it can be transmitted are can be received but one way at a time. A device with Half duplex mode can send or receive data but not at the same time that is why why its speed is very slow. If you imagine internet surfing we can say that it is an example of half duplex communication mode. In Internet surfing at a time issues a request for a web page and the webpage is displayed before issuing another request.

3. Full duplex mode

In full duplex mode data can be travel in both directions for example if if a computer one send data to a computer to you then computer to can also send data two computer one its means that both computers act as sender receiver simultaneously. We can consider a telephone as an example of full duplex mode.
